Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born November 18, 1985 in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix realized early on that she had a talent in running while attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her first attempt, she finished 2nd in the 200 meter event at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school in 2003 and was signed by Adidas to become an athlete in professional competition. Following that, she was a student at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic Medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. She broke a Junior World Record by running 200 metres in 22.18 second. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. In 2007 she defended that title, beating her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and was consistently within the top three athletes in her respective events.
